Dr Pam Ramsay Funding Award

Dr Pam Ramsay and colleagues have been awarded funding from the Intensive Care Foundation.

Working as part of a group with Dr Brenda O’Neill, Dr Bronagh Blackwood (both Belfast) and Dr Alia Darweish (Bristol), they will use the funding to develop, pilot and validate a questionnaire to capture patients' healthcare and support needs throughout the recovery process. The questionnaire will be largely based on Pam’s longitudinal qualitative study of recovery at up to a year following hospital discharge (the RELINQUISH study). They will also pilot the use of the Patient Activation Measure among this patient group. The funding is intended to underpin a future programme of research in this area.
