South East Scotland ICU Group Meeting 9th November 2018

South East Scotland ICU Group presents a 1 day meeting:

Solving people challenges in an acute care setting

It is a common belief among junior doctors that finishing specialist exams and achieving a consultant position is the rewarding end of training. And yet all those years of study prioritise clinical excellence, with limited focus on people management skills -  critical to being an effective consultant.

  • How well do you understand your own leadership style, and the impact this has on your colleagues, juniors and the wider team?
  • How do you deal with your people frustrations to build collaborative behaviours that support patient care?
  • Do you want to know how to lead inclusively and be part of a speciality that engages the next generation but dread diversity training?
  • Are you fed up with the generic buzz around burnout but keen to explore your personal triggers and survival strategies?
  • Are you struggling to manage your millennial trainees and to appreciate their mindset and priorities?

Join us for a different kind of leadership/management training day to explore the following topics:

  • Know yourself to manage yourself
  • The value and danger of bias in an acute care setting
  • Avoiding burnout in an age of digitalisation
  • Managing millennial trainee

The day will be dynamic, interactive and practical. CPD credits will be applied for (5 CPD points expected)
