Personalised Support Required to Help People Living with the Health Impacts of Covid-19

Edinburgh based clinicians involved in the PHOSP-COVID study, led by the University of Leicester, have found that middle aged women experience the most severe, long lasting symptoms. The study followed up more than 1000 patients who had been admitted to hospital with Covid-19 in the UK last year. It found that 70% had not fully recovered, an average of 5 months after leaving hospital, with middle aged women most affected.

It is vital to identify people with ongoing health problems from Covid-19 and get experts like dieticians, physiotherapists and social workers to provide personalised help and support.
