A lasting impression

Photos by our international students reveal their lasting impressions of Edinburgh.

International students were invited to submit a photograph that depicted an impression of Edinburgh that they will always remember.

Students were asked to think about the city, the culture, the University, the people, the buildings and the things they have seen and done.

Winning entries

The competition winners were chosen by photographer Jane Barlow at The Scotsman newspaper from a shortlist of the entries picked by the University's Photography Society.

More than 28,000 students from 137 countries attend the University and 33 per cent of those students are from outside the UK.
