The Careers Service leads and informs the careers and employability provision across the University, working in partnership with academic units and professional services, drawing on active support from our employer and alumni community. Our students and graduates are inspired and empowered to make informed career decisions, define their vision of success and progress to a wealth of possibilities in the UK and beyond.

Our students and graduates are inspired and empowered to make informed career decisions, define their vision of success and progress to a wealth of possibilities in the UK and beyond.

 

The Service facilitates access to a range of quality resources, services and opportunities including our high profile Employ.ed on Campus programme, networking opportunities with employers and alumni, an excellent jobs portal and professional development activities.  Students are encouraged to engage with career thinking from day one supported by our team of committed careers professionals who provide impartial advice and guidance, online and face to face, to UGs and PGs, whether UK based or further afield. 

 

Shelagh Green, Director for Careers and Employability:  An economics graduate from the University of Aberdeen. Shelagh has considerable experience in Higher Education careers and employability, building on previous experience in financial services, professional out-placement and redundancy support. A past  President of the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services (ACGAS) which represents  over 95% of HE careers professionals,  in addition to leading on careers and employability  matters within the University  Shelagh has contributed to sector level development in support for international students, skills development and careers strategy.
