Edinburgh Global works closely with the Vice-Principal International to provide leadership and support to advance the University's global engagement.
Edinburgh Global provides a range of services to overseas students, undertakes recruitment and partnership activity across Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia, and the Americas.
Other responsibilities include the management of the University's network of overseas representatives and the co-ordination of University’s five Regional Centres.
The Regional Centres are in Beijing, Mumbai, Santiago de Chile, Singapore and New York, and were established to support the University's strategic engagement in key regions of the world through the development of relationships and collaboration with leading institutions.

Has responsibility for the implementation of the University’s International Strategy working with the Vice Principal International and advising senior management on internationalisation.
His remit includes direction of Edinburgh Global and the University’s Regional Centres across Asia, Latin and North America. He has responsibility for international partnerships and projects; recruitment; student mobility and exchange; student support and high level liaison with agencies and institutions within the UK and overseas. He has experience of educational projects and coordinating high level engagement and partnerships with a range of nations including the People’s Republic of China; USA; Brazil; Russian Federation and India and has worked extensively in the Russian Federation and the USA.
Prior to joining the University of Edinburgh (2001) he worked for the University of St Andrews and the Scottish Government. He has an undergraduate BA Honours degree in Public Policy and Management and a Postgraduate Diploma in European Policy and Law. He is a member of the Universities Scotland International Committee; Russell Group International Group; Universitas 21 International Directors Group; Vice Principal’s International Executive Group and the University Secretary’s Senior Management Team.
