Applications for September 2022 entry

The UCAS main application scheme has now closed for undergraduate degrees beginning in September 2022. Applicants who had applied through UCAS by 30 June 2022 will receive our decision by 14 July 2022.

Information for international students who wish to apply to us through Clearing is provided on our website.

Undergraduate transfer requests

We are receiving a high volume of requests from students who have been studying in Ukraine and are now looking to transfer to study in the UK.

We realise how difficult the circumstances are for students from Ukraine, and we are considering requests on a case by case basis. However, we are unable to consider any requests received after 30 June 2022.

We will prioritise UK nationals who have been previously studying at Ukrainian universities, Ukrainian nationals who are in the UK under one of the UK visa schemes (Home for Ukraine Scheme / Ukraine Family Scheme / Ukraine Extension Scheme), and students whose home country is Ukraine.

Unfortunately we will not be able to consider:

  • students who have been studying in Ukraine but whose home country is not Ukraine or the UK.
  • students who are Ukrainian school leavers or people with Ukrainian school qualifications who have not completed a full year of an undergraduate degree, as they do not meet our entry requirements. These students will still be able to apply for the University’s International Foundation Programme, or our admissions team can provide advice on alternative qualifications you can take.
  • Students who are in their final year of a degree at a Ukrainian university. Students in those circumstances should be able to complete their studies with their Ukrainian university online.
  • Students from a Ukrainian university hoping to transfer to the University of Edinburgh to study Medicine, because the programmes do not align. All places to study Medicine in 2022 have now been filled, and therefore anyone interested in beginning a degree at the University in 2023 should apply through UCAS by 15 October 2022. Applicants will need to meet all our normal entry requirements. Our admissions team will be able to provide further advice.

Postgraduate transfer requests

We continue to consider postgraduate transfer requests on a case by case basis.
