Travelling to the Western General by car

The Western General Hospital is located on the north west of the city, approximately two miles from the city centre. The main postcode for the site is EH4 2XU.

Parking at the Western General Hospital

Unfortunately there is limited space for parking in the hospital grounds and you may not be able to find a parking space.

Patients and visitors who live in the Edinburgh area are advised to travel, if possible, by bus or arrange to be dropped off at the hospital by car.

If you are not a patient or visiting a patient unfortunately there is no parking available on site. University staff based at the Western General have limited access to designated parking.

Disabled parking places are available at the Paderewski Building.

'Pay and Display' parking is available in the streets surrounding the Western General Hospital.

The car parks at the Western General Hospital are not under the management of the Transport and Parking Office. These are managed by the NHS.
