Cycling is a cheap, quick and healthy way to get around. There is a network of on and off road cycle routes in Edinburgh.

The Central Area is located on the south side of the city centre, within easy cycling distance of the city's main transport hubs.

Plan your bike journey

The Central Area is within a five minute cycle ride of Edinburgh Waverley Train Station.

To find out local cycle routes to the Central Area, you can use the CycleStreets journey planner or the City of Edinburgh Council cycle maps. All you need to do is enter your origin and destination. You can find the post code of a University building using the online campus maps.

Bike parking

The University provides a range of bike parking facilities across the Central Area.

Bike stands

Bike stands are located throughout the University campus. In the Central Area alone there are stands to accommodate almost 2000 bikes.

The University provides bike stores across the Central Area for staff and students.
