Free bicycle repair for students
Thanks to funding from the Scotland Cycle Repair Fund, University of Edinburgh students can register to receive up to £50 of free bike repairs.
Following our previous events, free bike repairs for students are returning to Bristo Square. A mechanic from Lothian Cycle Training will be on campus in Central Area on Friday 25th March. Due to limited availability, you must reserve a slot in advance using the links below.
Register for a bike repair slot (25th March)
There are 3 time slots (10am - 12pm, 12pm - 2pm, and 2pm - 4pm), but you can drop you bike off earlier and collect it later if your booked slot doesn't precisely suit your timetable.
This funding is aimed at people who wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford standard cycle repairs at this time. That can be for an old bike that needs some work to make it roadworthy, or one that’s well used but requires some attention. If the bike requires more than £50 of work, you will be advised about what extra work is needed so you can take it to a bike shop.
As such, this event is for students only. We will be resuming our usual free Dr Bike service, which both students and staff can access, soon. If you are a University staff member and you need your bike serviced, don't forget that several local bike shops offer a University discount. You can also find other bike shops that are participating in the scheme here.
