Bike security marking
The University and Lothian and Borders Police are working together to promote bike security.
Bike marking is being promoted to improve cycle security. Bike marking is intended to deter theft as your bike will be less attractive as a theft target. It also involves a bike database, which matches bikes with their rightful owners if a bike is recovered by the police following a theft.
The University of Edinburgh Security Section often attend Dr Bike sessions to provide free bike security marking to University students and staff. At these sessions they also sell D-locks for £15. Find out about upcoming Dr Bike sessions near you.
