Tips on maintaining your own bike There are many good video guides to bike maintenance on YouTube: Watch this video by Cycling Weekly for a good introduction to the basics of bike maintenance and keeping your bike in good working order. Maintenance stations around campus Many of the University's bike stores contain pumps and/or maintenance stands with tools. We also have bike repair kits at some building receptions. Please see this page for more info. The Bike Station The Bike Station is a long established bike-recycling charity based on Causewayside in Edinburgh. Fix Your Own Bike The Bike Station's workshop is open for members of the public to use twice a week. Their mechanics and volunteers will be on hand to help you. They have all the tools and expertise you will need to learn how to repair your bike, as well as a wide range of new and second-hand parts. It costs £6 an hour to hire a stand in the workshop. The sessions run on Saturday mornings and Wednesday evenings. More info here The Wee Spoke Hub Please Note - Wee Spoke Hub is currently on hiatus! Wee Spoke Hub is an inclusive community bike workshop in Edinburgh. They run weekly drop-ins where you can learn to fix your own bike using the workshop's tools and space. Fix Your Own Bike workshops Learn how to fix your own bike in a relaxed and non-judgemental environment, with advice and help from their qualified mechanic and volunteers. Cost: each participant pays for the spare parts they use, donations welcome. Fix Your Own Bike workshops run every Tuesday, 5-8pm at the Wee Spoke Hub, 13 Guthrie Street, Edinburgh EH1 1JG.
