Hudson Beare Lecture Theatre project
The University of Edinburgh Estates Department and Historic Environment Scotland (HES) are undertaking a feasibility study to prepare the ground for a project to adapt the Grade B listed Hudson Beare Lecture Theatre through several refurbishment actions.
Listed buildings will need to be maintained into the future, a lasting part of the University estate, and this project can be seen as a pilot for future adaptation work on historic buildings across campuses.
Living lab project
A current living lab project that we'd like to match with a student would involve analysis of data gathered using tinytag sensors in the Hudson Beare Lecture Theatre.
Please get in touch if you're interested in undertaking this research, to understand hot/cold balance and ventilation in the building and propose adaptation actions considering current building fabric and exterior context.
