Palma Soap

Palma soap

Palma soap is a social enterprise working in the Kasungu district of Malawi to empower women through entrepreneurial action whilst combating mosquito-transmitted diseases. The project is currently working with 13 women to train and teach them how to produce, package and sell a mosquito repellent soap in communities based in the Kasungu district.

For those that can afford them, which is not the majority, mosquito nets are currently the only source of protection, and so the introduction of a mosquito repellent soap is an incredibly innovative and sustainable solution. Profits made by the sale of the soap goes towards the aim of providing financial security for the 13 beneficiaries.
