Exciting student projects selected to receive funding
This year the Department for Social Responsibility and Sustainability, in partnership with the Edinburgh University Students' Association, enjoyed a surge of applications for the Student Project Grant.
In total, 26 applications were received. These covered a wide range of topics from innovations in small-scale plastic recycling, multiple food projects, local carbon action, and international social enterprise initiatives. Judging was particularly difficult this year as the standard of application was so high.
Davy Gray from the Students' Association and Rachel Chisholm from our Department will be meeting with the grant recipients over the coming weeks to hear more detail on the projects' timelines. We are excited to see how projects progress over the coming year and hope that some will be entered in the 2018 Sustainability Awards.
