The University of Edinburgh’s Department for Social Responsibility and Sustainability proudly announces that Dave Gorman, the department's Director, has been named in the prestigious ENDS Report Power List of the top 100 UK environmental professionals.
This recognition highlights Dave’s significant contributions to the University and the broader community, demonstrating leadership in addressing climate and nature crises, enhancing community engagement, and promoting responsible and social investments.
Over the past few years, Dave has played a pivotal role in shaping the University’s environmental strategies and policies, setting a benchmark within the sector. His efforts have not only influenced local and national environmental policies but also resulted in substantial positive environmental impacts.

The ENDS Report Power List, now in its third year, celebrates individuals who have made the most significant impact in the environmental sector. To be featured on the list, nominees must have met one or more of the following criteria: shaping or influencing environmental policy, enhancing the profession’s reputation, demonstrating positive environmental improvements, or being unsung heroes whose efforts bring about positive change.
The selection process involved a survey of ENDS Report’s readership and a review by a panel of experts, highlighting the extensive talent and dedication within the profession.
Jamie Carpenter, editor of ENDS Report, expressed his admiration for the nominees, stating,
"The Power List is a celebration of the vast reserves of talent that exist in the environmental profession, and aims to shine a light on the work of those whose efforts are delivering positive change. We have been humbled by the response to this exercise and have been struck by the countless examples of environmental professionals who met one or more of our criteria – many more than we can name on our list."
The 2024 Power List was published on Wednesday 28 May, 2024, on the ENDS Report website, featuring the names of this year’s most impactful environmental professionals.
