What is Fairtrade Fortnight?
For two weeks each year at the end of February and start of March, thousands of individuals, companies and groups across the UK come together to share the stories of the people who grow our food and drinks and who grow the cotton in our clothes, people who are often exploited and underpaid.
The theme for 2021 is 'choose the world you want', with a focus on the climate crisis.

Up for more of a challenge? Enter our crafting, making and baking blog post competition for the chance to win a £75 One World Shop voucher.
This is an opportunity to be creative at home. Entries can either use fairly traded materials or the subject matter should be centred on fair trade.
Here are some ideas to get your creative juices flowing:
Could you knit using fair trade yarn? Or embroider a design of quintessential fair trade products like bananas and coffee with the Fairtrade logo? Fruit makes for a classic still life subject.
Why not share how you made it with instructions to inspire others?
Classic fair trade ingredients for baking include sugar, coffee, bananas and chocolate, but there are savoury ingredients too, such as herbs, spices, rice, nuts, and oils. See what you can find - we can't wait to see your edible creations!
Can you take action shots or write out the recipe for others to try?
If communication is more your style, you can also write a blog post or poem, or even record a music video.
Here are some blog post title ideas:
- My top three Fairtrade products and why I love them
- Write up of our Fairtrade Fortnight event
- Fair trade and the Climate Crisis
