Social Responsibility and Sustainability

SRS Student Forum: Exploring Social Enterprise

The SRS Student Forum gives students an informal space to share ideas, explore opportunities, and discuss social responsibility and sustainability issues that impact their day to day life at University.

In recent years’ students at the University of Edinburgh have expressed a growing interest in careers that will make a difference in society; whether it’s by exploring opportunities in charities or the wider third sector, or by setting up and running a start-up project.

Co-hosted with Edinburgh Social Enterprise, this lunch time student forum will provide an introduction to this growing sector. It will cover the benefits, impact and opportunities that social enterprise have to offer.

Students gain insight the different areas open to them, and how to make those first steps. The event will cover:

  • What it means to be a social enterprise
  • Variety of careers that social enterprises can offer
  • Support for those looking at research opportunities
  • Benefits of volunteering and placements

Lunch and refreshments are provided.

Places at this forum are limited, so please book in advance.
