Social Responsibility and Sustainability

Celebrating Years of SRS Progress at Edinburgh with David Somervell

The University of Edinburgh has for a long time taken pro-active action on sustainability leading to the establishment of our department - Social Responsibility and Sustainability - in 2013.

We invite you to join us from 5.30pm on Friday 26 February to celebrate the contribution by the many staff and students to this progress; and to recognise the input David Somervell has made as he steps back from his role as University Sustainability Adviser.

David joined the University in 1989 as Energy Manager. Through several evolving roles in Estates, and – with a huge involvement from many academic and technical colleagues as well as legions of students – has helped Edinburgh reduce its ecological impact and evidence its contribution to society.

Come along to the Counting House to raise a glass and enjoy a hop!

Bring your stories and pictures from down the years; and if you’re musical, remember to pack your instruments for a jamming session.
