Hope for the Future: Tackling Inequality and Diversifying the Climate Movement
How will climate change effect the world’s poorest communities? What does climate change mean for those living in poverty in the UK? How can we approach climate justice at the international, national and local scale?
Hope for the Future is a climate change charity working to support constituents to meet with their MP to talk about climate change.
Working with students at the University of Edinburgh, Hope for the Future have enabled them to meet with local MP Tommy Sheppard earlier this year and to bring together this event
Join us for a panel discussion where we hope to provide information on how the impacts of climate change disproportionately affect society’s poorest people and understand how inequalities within the current climate movement have manifested. This initiative and event aims to support and empower individuals and communities to take action on climate change.
Panelists:
Tommy Sheppard, SNP MSP
Chine McDonald, Christian Aid
Zarina Ahmad, CEMVO
Peterson Toscano, Comedian & Climate Activist
