Social Responsibility and Sustainability

Build Back Better: 2050 Climate Group

Covid-19 changed our lives. It has also reinforced weaknesses in our economy and society that mean marginalised communities suffer the most. As lockdown eases, society has an opportunity to build back a better world: one which is fair, robust and sustainable. As Sustainability Champions and Pathways Students, we have a role to play in helping to shape what that world could be, particularly in relation to environmental and social justice. Throughout semester one, we'd like you to develop your understanding of how sustainability can help to "build back better".

Join us to hear from Lucy Stanfield, Chair of 2050 Climate Group and Circular Economy Analyst within UoE and her colleagues on their unique perspective of the green recovery debate and how young Sustainability Leaders can help guide us in a positive way.

We will hear about the purpose of the 2050 Climate Group, it’s importance in providing leadership skills and building networks that will help deliver a green recovery and how we bring sustainability and the SDGs to the forefront of our institutions/workplaces.

This event is open to all but will be of particular interest to Students on the SRS Pathways and Sustainability Champions.
