Join the academic network
The SRS Academic Network was established in 2014 to be an interdisciplinary community of research and teaching staff at the University of Edinburgh interested in social responsibility and sustainability themes. PhD students are welcome to join as well as academic staff.

Please request membership using the form below. Use your University email address so we can confirm your eligibility.
Existing as an email list, the network allows members to share ideas and calls for collaboration on: research projects; funding opportunities; teaching; student placements; events; knowledge exchange and impact activities; and other projects. The list encourages academic input into University policy and practice, with the Social Responsibility and Sustainability Department regularly identifying such opportunities.
As of February 2017, there are over 170 members from 10 Schools, and members range from PhD to professor level.
Membership of this network does not require a specific time commitment, but is simply an opportunity to stay informed about SRS research and teaching activities, and to engage further with collaborative projects where you wish to. Members can unsubscribe at any time.
We aim to have an annual networking event where members can share their relevant research and teaching and seek ideas or collaborations.
Periodically, meetings are held on how particular themes (e.g. energy, circular economy, SRS in supply chains…) can be approached in a joined up way through teaching and research.
We also host meetings about particular funding opportunities or new projects.
The University is wide-spread, both geographically and by discipline. The Academic Network is essential in connecting our SRS community, providing a route to ask for advice, share best practice and get inspiration from colleagues across the disciplines.
