Promising undergraduates are encouraged to consider a career in research through hands-on experience during the summer vacation.

Carnegie Trust for the Universities of Scotland

This award is for the pursuit of a full-time research project, usually conducted in the vacation between second and third year.

Scottish Society for Experimental Medicine

This summer vacation scholarship programme nurtures young researchers at Scottish universities.

College of Science and Engineering Office

A few vacation bursaries may be available for medical students to undertake summer research projects in departments within the College of Science and Engineering.
