Teaching

I am the Deputy Programme Director and cohort lead for the ChM in Urology online postgraduate programme delivered in partnership between the University of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. I also undertake dissertation supervision for students undertaking various MSc programmes within the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies.

Biography

Prior to joining the Edinburgh Surgery Online, I was based in the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies as the Programme Coordinator for the MSc Clinical Animal Behaviour. I have also previously lectured for many years in veterinary nursing and / or animal behaviour/welfare (Harper Adams University and the University of Bristol), and I completed a PhD here at the University of Edinburgh/Scottish Rural College (then SAC) in broiler breeder welfare. I am a former Registered Veterinary Nurse, having worked in clinical practice since 1998, predominantly within emergency anc first opinion clinical environments.

Research Interests

My academic interests include evidence-based medicine/healthcare/nursing, veterinary education and clinical governance, and I have been involved with several external veterinary organisations (RCVS Knowledge, BSAVA, BVNA) associated with maintaining these interests.
