We are based in the Alexander Donald Building at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh. The unit comprises three wards, a dedicated 12-bedded emergency admission unit, a five-day Unit and a Day Surgery Unit. It also uses a 10 bed Surgical Level One High Dependency Unit (HDU) and a five bed Level Two HDU. The Specialist Colorectal Unit also provides a regional service across Edinburgh and Lothian as a whole and tertiary referral service for further a field.
