Callum McCadden talks about his experience of studying at Edinburgh and why he chose to study sustainable development with us.
My student experience
"I find the historical nature of the city to be fascinating but also aesthetically pleasing. I really enjoy how the city has a traditional skyline which really emphasises the historic feel.
I really enjoy the services provided by the Students' Association who operate across a variety of locations and host a multitude of events.
I feel like it’s obvious to say that societies are a key element of student life, but I really underestimated how much enjoyment they could bring to me in regards to my student life. I'd never imagine myself training to seriously play a match of frisbee a year ago!
I most enjoy the opportunities offered by the sheer multitude of different people who travel to study here. I really enjoy frisbee but I can recognize it as an American import. I feel like this point rings true for other events/ societies that people enjoy here in Edinburgh and we owe thanks to Edinburgh's diversity for this."
"My programme has helped equip me for life in the future by developing my interests. The broadness of the material covered in first year really helped me to see what I enjoy, and what I do not. This development has allowed me to focus my choices for later years, which will help me for life beyond my studies here."
