"I knew the University had a great reputation and offered excellent teaching and facilities. It is internationally respected for its ongoing contribution to scientific research, and the possibility of one day playing a part in that really appealed to me.”

My student experience

I really love the social aspect of student life. You meet so many interesting people from all around the world. Edinburgh is full of great places to socialise – there lots of different venues on campus, so many great pubs, and the meadows are also fantastic, particularly in summer!

“The University offers tons of things to get involved in such as sports clubs and societies, there is a society for almost everything.

Around 100,000 students call Edinburgh home, giving the city a unique buzz and ensuring you’ll be in good company. Discover more about student life at Edinburgh.

My programme

The best thing about studying at Edinburgh is my subject. I'm enjoying getting immersed in biology and being surrounded by people who feel the same. Listening to lecturers and tutors speak with such knowledge and passion for the subject is really inspiring.  It's crazy how much you learn at university.

“I like that you can choose outside courses and gain skills and knowledge in a subject completely different to your main area!”

My programme is giving me very valuable scientific training and transferable skills that will be vital for my future employment prospects. Biology at the University of Edinburgh keeps up with the current, wider science world, and so the course covers a broad range of really useful skills.
