My student experience
"The things I’ve enjoyed most about student life are meeting new people and learning about a new place. With an international community like this one you never know who you will meet and from where in the world they come and this makes the whole process of getting to know new people much more exciting because you learn about different places you can only dream of visiting. Being here feels like you are living life and learning as you go. Here you learn a lot about the culture, the people and life in a new place."
"I really enjoy the organisation and structure of my degree. Most people like to have options in their programmes, however I like the fact that I have choices, but they are limited. This is because I like structure and to follow a set regime which has an ultimate goal and to that extent I really enjoy my degree. In addition to this, the applicability of my degree is amazing. In my first semester I was able to read and understand financial information posted by different companies.
For me, the biggest challenge has been the different areas that need to be covered in relation to business overall as a first year student. This has been quite challenging due to the shear amount of content we cover over the various areas of business ranging from strategy to human resource management. However, with any career in business, one needs to know about the different areas and that makes it worth the challenge.
The most rewarding thing about my programme has been the ability to apply what I have learned through group projects and to see that it has a practical application in the world and it is not just words on paper. Accountancy 1A has so far been my favourite course, because much I like structure. Accountancy 1A truly embodies that in that you learn about the rules, regulations and structures that are put in place when it comes to the reporting of financial information. I also really enjoyed the practical applications of the course, so when it came to the analysis of the financial statements of different companies and understanding what was stated in those documents, that brought a real sense of accomplishment."

"Considering my programme is quite specific, it gives me the practical skills to better understand the financial side of the business world by improving my analytical skills, my ability to analyse and react to a situation and also providing me with practical knowledge of the world of finance."
