Venues and events

The Students' Association runs four student union buildings, which contain several bars, retail and catering outlets.

Teviot Row House, opened in 1889, is the oldest purpose–built students’ union in the world and sits in the University’s Central Area next to the unique domed student venue, Potterrow.

Recent multimillion-pound redevelopments include study, social, meeting and events spaces alongside retail, bar and catering outlets at King’s Buildings House.

In addition, a world-class centre for student activities including dance studios, a multi-purpose performance space, TV and radio production studios and a cafe and bar at the iconic Pleasance complex.

The Students' Association is also responsible for organising events in Welcome Week and throughout the year, from language cafes to silent discos and food fairs.
