Undergraduate enhanced campus visits

An on-campus introduction to the University including a talk, tours and access to facilities.

These Enhanced campus visits are for potential undergraduates  interested in any subject area.

Booking is required for these events, which will take place on the following dates:

  • Monday 27 June
  • Tuesday 28 June
  • Wednesday 29 June
  • Thursday 30 June
  • Friday 1 July
  • Monday 4 July

You will have the opportunity to book to attend various activities, depending on your interests:

Introduction to the University talk For those interested in ALL subject areas. An overview of the University of Edinburgh from a member of staff, with the opportunity to ask questions.
Central campus student-led tour For those interested in ALL subject areas. We recommend all visitors attend this, even if your subject of interest is taught at the King's Buildings campus.
King's Buildings campus student led tour

For those interested in degrees within the following areas: Biological Sciences (not Biomedical/Medical Sciences), Chemistry, Earth Sciences, Ecological & Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics & Astronomy.

Admissions team drop-in sessions

Our College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences, and College of Science & Engineering Admissions teams will be available to speak to one-to-one.

(Admissions staff for the following subjects will not be in attendance: Biomedical Sciences, Medical Sciences, Medicine MBChB, Oral Health Sciences, Veterinary Medicine).

Pleasance Sports Complex & Gym drop-in tours Guided tours on a drop-in basis for you to look around our world-class gym and sport facilities and find out more about the opportunities to be active whilst at Edinburgh.
Teviot Student Union

Drop in to Teviot Row House, one of our student union buildings, which has indoor and outdoor catering outlets.

Family and friends are also welcome on campus, however,  due to reduced capacity, we kindly request only  one additional guest  is brought to activities, to ensure there is availability for prospective students.

The Enhanced campus visits above provide general information about studying with us.

In addition, some subject areas are offering activities on select dates alongside these visits to allow you to find out more about studying their degree programmes.

Do I need a booking?

Due to capacity contraints, only prospective students who have registered for the event, and one booked guest, will be permitted to attend.

Confirmation of booking

You should receive confirmation of your booking(s) within 24 hours. If you haven’t received this, please email us on ug.recruitment@ed.ac.uk.

If you need to cancel or amend your booking, please follow the instructions in your booking confirmation email.

Accompanying guests

In order to prioritise prospective students, we kindly request that only  one additional guest  is brought, and this guest must be booked as part of the registration process.

If more than one person is accompanying you to the University, they are welcome to explore the campus at their own pace using our self-guided audio tour

Alternatively, our university and surrounding city are beautiful to walk around, with several cafes nearby.

If the event is cancelled

We will explore all options to avoid cancelling on-campus events, however there may be rare occasions where events are cancelled at the last minute due to unforeseen circumstances. We are unable to accept liability for any costs incurred by visitors (e.g. travel, accommodation). Therefore you may wish to consider travel insurance or flexible tickets.

Hygiene and safety measures

The safety of our students, staff and visitors is extremely important to us. The Scottish Government removed all legal restrictions in Scotland from 18 April, but for visitors coming onto campus we ask that you continue to play your part and:

  • Clean your hands regularly
  • Respect each other’s personal space
  • Wear a face covering indoors
  • Stay home if you’re unwell

Accessibility

If you would like to provide us with information about any specific access requirements you will have the opportunity to do so when booking your place for the event. This may include but is not limited to accessible parking, sign language interpreter, portable hearing induction loop system, large print materials or any other reasonable adjustments. Please note we do not provide foreign language translation.

If providing these details within the booking form is not suitable for you, you can alternatively get in touch with us on ug.recruitment@ed.ac.uk.

If you will require a sign language interpreter for the event you must let us know in advance as we require at least two weeks’ notice in order to provide this service.

All venues in use will have level access or can be accessed by lift. However, if you or an accompanying guest are unable to self-transfer to a fire evacuation chair please get in touch on the email address above so that we can provide you with more detailed advice about venue access. If you require Blue Badge or accessible parking it is important that you let us know in advance so that we can arrange suitable campus access for your visit.
