Arriving by train or bus
How to get to our Open Day from Edinburgh's train and bus stations.
The University’s central campus is a 15 minute walk from Edinburgh Waverley train station and a 20 minute walk from Edinburgh’s main bus station.
If you are arriving at the bus station you should use the exit towards St Andrew Square.
Travelling within Edinburgh
On foot
Our central campus is within walking distance of the city centre, but you should be aware that our suggested route includes a steep hill. These directions can be used by travellers from Waverley train station, Princes Street tram stop and the main bus station.
Local bus or tram
Edinburgh is well served by a network of local buses and trams that run throughout the day. Several bus services pass close to our campuses. You can plan your journey within the city of Edinburgh on the Lothian Buses website.
Lothian Buses: journey planner
You can pay for your bus journey in a variety of ways but, if you are paying in cash, you will need to present the exact change on all Lothian Bus services except the Airlink service (from the airport).

Taxi
Taxis can be pre-booked, found in taxi ranks at all major transport hubs, or flagged down on the street.
Look out for our Student Ambassadors

Keep an eye out for our Student Ambassadors wearing bright red.
They will be at Edinburgh bus station, Waverley train station and along the walking route until 11am on the day of Open Day to offer advice and directions to our campuses.
