Open Day programme
Our Open Day on Saturday 5 October will run from 9.30am until 3.45pm, with accommodation and some other facilities open to visitors until later.
View the programme
- Programmes will be given out on campus throughout the day.
- When booking travel, we recommend you plan to be on campus for as much of the Open Day as possible so that you can attend as many activities as you wish.
- You do not need to reserve a space at any of our visits or talks, except for Veterinary Medicine visits and Medicine talks (these can be reserved through the booking form) and language taster sessions (sign up on the day).
- Some talks may be very busy. If space is limited for a particular talk, we will give priority to prospective students.
Medicine & Veterinary Medicine events
Specific advance booking is required for Medicine and Veterinary Medicine events as part of your initial Open Day booking; as places are limited for these talks and visits we recommend booking as soon as possible.
Booking places for friends and family
Your family and friends are welcome to join you at Open Day. An Open Day booking should be made for each individual prospective student, but as part of this booking up to five accompanying guests can be added.
Our booking form allows you to make a booking for school groups or organisations. If any of your students wish to attend Medicine or Veterinary Medicine events, they must also make their own individual Open Day booking in order to reserve their place.
Confirmation of booking
You should receive confirmation of your Open Day booking within 24 hours. If you haven’t received this, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Cancelling or amending your booking
If you need to cancel or amend your booking for the Open Day, please follow the instructions in your booking confirmation email.
Getting proof of attendance
Every prospective student who checks in at a Help Desk on Open Day will receive an email confirming their attendance shortly afterwards. Please note that we are unable to provide prior proof of attendance due to the volume of visitors we receive at each Open Day.
If you would like to provide us with information about any specific access requirements for you or your group you will have the opportunity to do so when booking your place for the event. This may include but is not limited to accessible parking, sign language interpreter, portable hearing induction loop system, large print materials or any other reasonable adjustments. Please note we do not provide foreign language translation.
If providing these details within the booking form is not suitable for you, you can alternatively get in touch with us on email@example.com or call on 0131 6504 360.
If you will require a sign language interpreter for the event you must let us know in advance as we require at least two weeks’ notice in order to provide this service.
All Open Day venues will have level access or can be accessed by lift. However, if you or an accompanying guest are unable to self-transfer to a fire evacuation chair please get in touch on the email address above so that we can provide you with more detailed advice about venue access. If you require Blue Badge or accessible parking it is important that you let us know in advance so that we can arrange suitable campus access for your visit.
The University works with AccessAble to provide details about the accessibility of our buildings and facilities.
