For some of our degrees we need you to achieve specific subjects to at least a GCSE level. We equate alphabetic grades with numeric grades as follows:GCSE grade equivalenciesAlphabeticNumericNorthern Ireland GCSEGrade A*Grade 8A* or AGrade AGrade 7AGrade BGrade 6BGrade CGrade 4/5C* or CSome of our subject areas are particularly competitive and attract many highly qualified applicants. In these circumstances, we may consider the number of A*s or grade 8/9s you have achieved at GCSE, alongside your A Level grades.We will accept International GCSEs (IGCSEs) and Level 2 Certificates as equivalent to GCSEs. GCSE English Unless we specify a higher level in the stated entry requirements, a pass is required in English at GCSE Grade C/4 for entry to all degrees. GCSE Mathematics Some degrees require you to achieve a grade A in Mathematics. We will accept combinations of Mathematics and Physics both at grade B, or Mathematics, Science plus Additional Science all at grade B to meet this requirement.Core Maths at grade A will also be accepted in place of GCSE Mathematics at grade A and at grade B in place of GCSE Mathematics at grade B. Core Maths will not be accepted in place of AS or A-Level Mathematics. GCSE Science Some degrees require you to achieve a specific grade in Biology, Chemistry or Physics. We will also accept Double Award Science, Trilogy, or Double Award Combined / Co-ordinated Science to meet this requirement. Entry requirements You should have achieved (or be predicted to achieve) our entry requirements, including required subjects, for the degree you have applied for.For some degrees, we may be able to consider all applicants who meet the entry requirements.
