Key dates and deadlines

Applicant virtual events: Guided Virtual Visit and Student Q&A

An opportunity to join us for an interactive walk through our Virtual Visit followed by a Q&A session with current undergraduate students. This event will take place every two weeks from 6 February to 20 March 2024 and is open to all applicants.

Accommodation applications open (date tbc)

You will only be able to apply for accommodation once you have accepted your offer.

Offer holder virtual events: Student Life and Services Sessions

A range of live sessions running throughout the week on University services and student life (including accommodation services, and live Q&A sessions with current students).

Offer holder events: College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine

Offer holders in the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine will be invited to a series of online and on campus events running between Wednesday 3 April and Friday 10 May 2024.

Offer holder events: College of Science and Engineering

All offer holders in the College of Science and Engineering will be invited to attend one of two dedicated in-person events on campus on Friday 12 April and Friday 26 April 2024. Join us to get a real feel for the University and the city.

Offer holder event: College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences

All offer holders in the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences will be invited to attend a dedicated in-person event on campus on Wednesday 24 April 2024. Join us to get a real feel for the University and the city.

Offer holder events: College of Science and Engineering

All offer holders in the College of Science and Engineering will be invited to attend one of two dedicated in-person events on campus on Friday 12 April and Friday 26 April 2024. Join us to get a real feel for the University and the city.

Decisions for October and January applicants

Provided you applied by the October or January deadline, you will receive a decision by 16 May 2024. The majority of applicants will hear back by 30 April.

June

Deadline to accept or reject offers made in May

If you received all your university decisions by the May decision deadline, you must reply to any offers by this date in June, otherwise they will be automatically declined.

Applications deadline for EU and international applicants

This is the UCAS main scheme deadline, and our deadline for all EU and international applicants. We will close applications for most of our degrees before this date and we advise you to apply by 31 January.

July

International Baccalaureate results day

We will publish information for applicants receiving their International Baccalaureate exam results and tell you what you need to do next.

Decisions for EU and international applicants

Provided you applied by the 30 June deadline, you will receive a decision by this date.

Deadline to accept or reject offers made in July

If you received all your university decisions by the July decision deadline, you must reply to any offers by this date, otherwise they will be automatically declined.

August

SQA results day

We will publish information for applicants receiving their SQA results and tell you what you need to do next.

A Level results day

We will publish information for applicants receiving their A Level results and tell you what you need to do next.

Deadline for submitting certificates

You must submit copies of all of your requested certificates (existing qualifications and non-UCAS exam results) within 10 working days of publication of your examination results or by 31 August of the UCAS cycle in which you applied, whichever is earlier.
