Undergraduate study - 2020 entry

Support for college students and adult learners

We work with local colleges, as well as Scottish Wider Access Programme (SWAP), to support college students and adult learners who may be returning to education for the first time in a number of years.

You may be able to progress to degree-level study at university by taking a Higher National (HN) programme or an access course at a further education college.

We will work with you at your college, and on campus here at Edinburgh, to help you make a successful transition from college to university.

Access Programme

Our Access Programme is a part-time course that provides a route for adult returners to study undergraduate degrees offered by the University of Edinburgh's College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences.

Scottish Wider Access Programme (SWAP)

Scottish Wider Access Programme (SWAP) is an alternative route for adult learners and mature students to get into university or college.
