Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Book: Homer
Be transported back to Ancient Greece and get to know the different narrative strategies and storytelling traditions of Homer’s epic mythological legends. This literature course aims to make these notoriously ‘difficult’ readings accessible and enjoyable. You’ll also discuss the social, political and cultural influences present in these classic texts.
Auteurs of Polish Cinema
Take a tour of post-war Poland and learn about iconic directors and their styles from Kieslowki to Polanski in this 10-week online course. You’ll also learn how to analyse the socio-cultural and political aspects of this era of Polish film.
Art in Europe: 1000-Present
Get a glimpse of a millennium of dramatic change across the continent as we take you on a journey of European Art. Starting from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance and then onto modernism and postmodernism, you'll end exploring present day works. From architecture to paintings, by the end of the course, you’ll be able to identify various European styles and creators.
