With Blue Monday approaching next week, it’s easy to slip into a winter slump this time of year, but it’s not too late to do something different this decade!

We thought we’d help brighten up your January with some of our Term 2 courses that are starting very soon and are still OPEN for booking.

This two-hour workshop is short, sweet and under a tenner. You’ll have exclusive access of the University of Edinburgh’s uCreate Studio and technologies. From the history of virtual reality to sourcing of VR content, by the end of the evening you’ll have built your own VR headset to take home and show your friends.

 

Film, Media and Contemporary Cultures | All Time Classics: Gone with the Wind – 80 Years On

Starts: Saturday 22 Feb 2020

This one-day course is the perfect opportunity to book a day out for yourself, kick back, relax and indulge your penchant for film. By the end of the day, you’ll be confident discussing the ways in which history, women and racial characterisation are depicted in the movie.

Are you a romantic music fan keen to delve deep into Chopin’s piano masterpieces? From his sources of inspiration and life to identifying the main components that make up his compositions, when it comes to the Polish pianist, this course doesn’t miss a beat – or note!

 

History | A History of the University of Edinburgh

Starts: Monday 10 Feb 2020

Are you an Edinburgh Uni student, alumni or perhaps you’re interested in the rich history of the city’s oldest university? This five-week course will take you back in time to the late 16th century where you’ll analyse the historical factors which shaped Scotland’s higher education system. You’ll also learn about the uni’s contribution to the local community.
