Parking in University car parks is not available to Open Day visitors, however, there are several alternative public parking options nearby.

You may find the Edinburgh Council and Parkopedia websites useful for finding parking across Edinburgh.

Central area (George Square)

Pay and Display short-stay parking is available in the Central area but is very limited. Long stay parking can be found at a range of sites in the city centre.

The car park closest to the Central George Square campus is Quartermile (Q-Park), with the next closest at St Leonard’s (Easi-Park) or St John’s Hill (NCP).

Edinburgh Park & Ride

Most of the University lies at the heart of Edinburgh’s city centre. Parking in the city is limited and can be expensive. For this reason you may prefer to make use of one of the many Park & Ride sites on the City Bypass A720.

Edinburgh's Park & Ride sites offer free parking, and the buses will use the bus-only "Greenways" into the city which should reduce journey times.

All bus services from both the Straiton and the Sheriffhall Park and Ride sites will take you to the city centre via University campuses.
