International Families and Partners Network

The International Families and Partners Network provides advice and support to the families and partners of international students.

Advice and support is available for the partners and families of international students.

A guide to life in Edinburgh for dependants

This guide is packed with information to help you and your partner or family transition to life in Scotland, and the city of Edinburgh.

Women's Club

This group invites the wives, partners and children of postgraduate students and post-doctoral workers to get to know each other. Female post-graduate students, post doctoral workers and their families are also welcome.

The group runs regular, informal coffee mornings once a week during semester time to socialise and to make new friends.

There are also a range of activities and events devoted to international culture and friendship, like going to museums, sharing a lunch or arts and crafts presentations.

Basic English classes

They offer basic English lessons by qualified teachers, taught in small groups according to your previous experience of English. Classes cost just £1.

During class time your children can be left in our small crèche. There are several volunteers who look after the children, play with them and read to them.

Support & facilities

They also provide information about living in Edinburgh, such as transport, doctors and shops. There is also a small selection of baby equipment: items such as highchairs, travel cots and buggies are available to borrow.
