How to... in-person sessions

Attending our ‘How to…’ in-person 30-minute sessions is a fantastic opportunity to hear from and meet with professional and support services staff from across the University.

At these relaxed and informal sessions, you’ll be presented with key information about a particular topic and will have the chance to ask any questions you may have as you start your University journey.

The sessions are also a great opportunity to meet with other new students in Welcome Week.

Covering a range of topics, some of the sessions may include interactivity or workshop elements, but you can get involved as much or as little as you want to!

• Spaces are limited so make sure you book your place at every session that you'd like to attend!
• Scroll through the list below (which is in chronological order) and select the session to find out more. You'll then see a link to book your place
• The booking form will allow you to book multiple sessions at once, and you'll receive a confirmation email with an E-Ticket containing the details of your booking(s)
• You will also receive a reminder email two hours before the session starts
• If you do not receive your confirmation email, please email induction@ed.ac.uk
• All of the sessions will take place in basement rooms underneath the magnificent McEwan Hall, and on the day you’ll be pointed in the right direction to join your session by our friendly team of Student Ambassadors
• On the day you may still turn up at the session start time if you haven't booked. If there are spaces available then we will do our best to let you attend, on a first come first served basis
