Before you start
Get started with MyEd
MyEd is the University of Edinburgh's web portal, and the best way to find and access many of the University’s online resources. It gives you easy access to the systems, tools, and information that you will use most often while you’re studying at the University. These include Learn, your Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), your email, timetables, the student record system (EUCLID), and much more.
Register Your University Login
You need to register for Your University Login before you can access MyEd and other University systems.
Step 1 - access MyEd
Find the email you were sent which contains your University username (UUN) and a registration password for your account on the University’s MyEd portal and follow the instructions.
Step 2 - update your temporary registration password
You will need to update the temporary registration password for future use. Once you have completed the registration process, you will then be logged in to MyEd.
Don’t forget to keep a note of your new updated password (securely), as you’ll need this to login to MyEd, Learn, and all the other systems that you’ll use.
Log in to MyEd
When you log in to MyEd nearer to your start date, you may notice that the content is different from what you saw as an applicant.
As a new student, your homepage gives you direct access to the content that you will use most often, including Learn, the University Library, and email. You’ll also see your notifications here, which are alerts about tasks you must complete or important information. Look out for the Notifications icon in the top right corner of MyEd.
MyEd gives you access to much more than just the content on the homepage. Explore the other menus to find more support, information, and guidance, tailored to you.
