For most students studying at central campus or King's Buildings, you can easily get around by walking or cycling. For occasional use of the buses, contactless is your best option. Edinburgh is a safe city with a low crime rate, but it is still important to pay attention to your personal safety while you're here. The University security team provide a 24/7 presence and response across the entire University and you can find their phone number on the back of your student card. Watch this video by the security team which includes key info about protecting your valuables, avoiding fraud and scams, how to report suspicious activity and who to ask for help.
