HEAR data collection

Use our online guidance to submit data for a student’s Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR).

A student can view much of their HEAR information on MyEd as they progress through their studies, and their full report is available to them once they have been awarded a degree.

For help submitting a student cohort, use our spreadsheet template as a guide and refer to our submission guidelines and timescales.

Please email your completed spreadsheet to our team with the subject line ‘[Type of information] HEAR data for upload to EUCLID.’

We will bulk-upload your submitted ‘additional achievements’ information into EUCLID, but there are some exceptions.

Using our template as a guide, you can submit student cohorts for:

  • internal awards, for example the Edinburgh Award
  • EUSA and EUSU representatives, office bearers and society and club officials (for example president, secretary or treasurer)
  • EUSU sports prizes
  • student representatives or committee members
  • student members of internal University strategy or review teams (for example Teaching Programme Reviews or Postgraduate Programme Reviews)

Exceptions: administrative support colleagues within your school have responsibility for inputting academic prizes and awards using the EUCLID Hub.

EUSA and EUSU representatives, office bearers and officials information is due to us at the end of semester 1 (late December).

All other HEAR information that falls into the abovementioned categories is due in mid-semester 2 (February).

For more information, view the University’s calendar of semester dates.

About the HEAR

The HEAR provides a student with detailed information about their studies and results, and complements a degree certificate.

Graduates often use it as a supporting document alongside a CV or personal statement in an application for employment or further study.

If students in your school require further information about the HEAR, more details are available on the Student Administration website.
