Undo resits

Superusers can undo a resit if it's no longer required or if you need to make changes to the first sit record.

You'll need to remove the resit record if:

  • you need to make changes to the first sit e.g. changing marks
  • it's no longer required, e.g. special circumstances and the student has a null sit
  • the record was created in error e.g. accidently using the R grade

The resit result must be unpublished and unratified before you can remove the record.

You can still remove the resit record after marks have been entered but they'll be deleted along with the record. 

Undo resits from Process Course Results

From the Process Course Results screen you can undo resits for:

  • All students in resit
  • A filtered list of students
  • Selected students (by using the tick boxes)

Process summary

  1. Go to Process Course Results
  2. Filter or search for the students you want to process
    • E.g. filter to show only students in resit
  3. Select the students
    • Use the tick boxes on the left to select all or specific students 
  4. Click the Action menu and select Undo resits
  5. Check the information on the pop up box and click Continue

The student records will now be returned to the first sit with unratified results.

If you're changing the first sit marks and the new result will create another resit record you should also unpublish the first sit result. 

If you don't then when you ratify the new first sit result it may look like you can't publish it because the resit record will appear as soon as you ratify. See the following page for guidance in this scenario:  I've undone the resit, changed the first sit result and it created a new resit record.

Process summary

  1. Go to Process Course Results
  2. Locate the student and click the little i button beside their name
  3. Click Undo Resit
    • This button will only appear if you're a superuser and the final course result is not ratified
  4. Click "Undo Resit" again when the confirmation box appears 

The student records will now be returned to the first sit with unratified results.

If you're changing the first sit marks and the new result will create another resit record you should also unpublish the first sit result.

Next steps

The record is now back in first sit and you can make any required changes before ratifying and publishing the result again.
