Student Systems

I've undone the resit, changed the first sit result and it created a new resit record

In this scenario it might look like you didn't get a chance to publish the new first sit course result, but you just need to go back to the first sit tab and click RePublish.

Once a resit record is removed the student is returned to first sit and their result is automatically unratified.

If you don't unpublish the old first sit result at this stage, then change it to one that will generate a new resit, when you ratify again you'll see the resit record appear straight away.

This may look like you haven't been given a chance to publish the new first sit result because the resit usually appears only after you've published.

How to resolve

You can still publish the new first sit result by following the steps below.

  1. Once you've ratified the first sit and see the new resit record, click on the "First sit" tab
    • This tab will still be displaying the previous published mark
  2. Click RePublish

This will publish the new first sit result to the student and return you back to the new resit record.

If you now click back to the First sit tab you'll see it has been completed and you can no longer change anything.
