Wellcome Trust 4 year PhD Programme in Tissue Repair
Seven studentships are available for 2019 entry: five funded by the Wellcome Trust and two by the University of Edinburgh College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine
This innovative and exciting multi-disciplinary PhD programme takes advantage of Edinburgh's unique combination of strengths in different disciplines including stem calls and regenerative medicine, inflammation and fibrosis biology, together with a wide range of clearly defined tissue and animal model systems. Understanding the mechanisms controlling tissue regeneration and repiar will allow us to expolit this knowledge to promote the healing damaged tissues. The programme focuses on interdisciplinary projects which span basic translational research linked over 30 principal investigators based in key Research Centres at the Little France campus (MRC Centre for Regenarative Medicine, MRC Centre for Inflammation Research, MRC Centre for Reproductive Health, BHF Centre for Cardiovascular Science and the Centre for Neuroregeneration). This programme has been designed to train scientists in cross-disciplinary research and produce the next generation of leaders in tissue repair.
Full UK/EU tuition fees, plus a stipend wich starts at £19,919 for all students. Research, training and travel costs are also available.
