MSc Language Education and MSc TESOL Scholarship

The School is delighted to offer eight scholarships for UK/EU applicants accepted onto the MSc TESOL or MSc Language Education programmes in the 2019-2020 academic session

Award

Each award is worth £4,000 which will be paid directly towards programme fees.

Eligibility

The scholarships are available to UK and EU applicants who have been accepted onto the MSc TESOL or MSc Language Education programme, commencing full time study in 2019-2020.

Applicants who have already commenced their programme of study on the closing date are not eligible for this scholarship.

Applicants intending to study part-time or online distance learning courses are not eligible for this scholarship.

Criteria

These scholarships are competitive and will be awarded broadly on the basis of academic merit.

Successful candidates will be chosen based on the following criteria:

  • Academic ability (as evidenced in standard application and references)
  • Suitability for the programme applied for in terms of previous study and work experience (standard application)
  • Commitment to scholarship and teaching in the field of TESOL/Language Education (as evidenced by the standard application and the statement in the scholarship application form).

Applicants with degrees of lower academic standing (e.g. under 2:1) but with a genuine interest and/or considerable work experience in the area of study are encouraged to apply. In cases where academic merit is equal, consideration of prior experience, demonstrable interest in the area of study and references will be considered

Eligible applicants should complete an online scholarship application

The scholarship deadline is 23:59 BST 14th June 2019. Please note that this deadline has been extended from the originally advertised date (31st May).
