Chemistry Masters Scholarships
The School of Chemistry will offer two scholarships, for the sum of £10,000 each for eligible Chemistry Masters students commencing study in September 2022.
The Chemistry Masters Scholarships help outstanding postgraduate taught Masters students to study in the School of Chemistry by providing for some of the costs of their training.
There are two Chemistry Masters Scholarships available, with a value of £10,000 each. The scholarships are tenable for one academic year only. This award cannot be held concurrently with fully-funded scholarships. It can, however, be combined with other partial funding. Please note these are not transferable if you need to defer.
The scholarship is offered to applicants who are commencing a full-time MSc programme in the School of Chemistry in September 2022 on:
- MSc Analytical Chemistry
- MSc Medicinal & Biological Chemistry
- MSc Materials Chemistry
Applicants to the MSc Research programme will not be eligible for this award.
The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and a supporting statement with candidates requiring the equivalent of a first-class honours degree or upper second-class honours degree from a recognised university or institution. Non-native English Language speakers must meet the University entry requirements of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent.
Applications for the 2022-2023 academic session are no longer being accepted for this scholarship as the 31st May deadline has now passed.

The School Scholarships Allocation Committee will meet in June 2022 to select the scholarship holders. To be eligible you must hold an offer and have applied for the scholarship. All eligible applicants including the winners will be announced thereafter. The School will offer scholarships to offer holders based on their MSc application taking into consideration academic qualifications and results as well as other achievements and a supporting statement. Scholarships will be offered based on merit and to the highest calibre applicants (see Scholarship criteria) and based on the candidate’s application for the Master's course.
