The University of Edinburgh will offer up to 3 postgraduate scholarships for students from Syria studying a one-year Masters degree programme in any subject offered by the University for the 2017-2018 academic session.
Each scholarship covers the full tuition fee as well as a stipend of £14,000 and is tenable for one academic year.
The scholarships will be awarded to students of Syrian nationality who either hold the status of "humanitarian protection" or full "refugee status" as granted by the UK government. Applications from Syrian students still living in Syria as well as those who have been forced to flee Syria and have sought refuge in the surrounding region are also welcome.
Applicants should already have been offered a place on a full-time postgraduate one-year Masters programme of study at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so.
The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit. Candidates must have, or expect to obtain, the overseas equivalent of a UK first-class honours degree.
Applications for this scholarship are no longer being accepted for 2017-18 as the deadline of 12th May 2017 has now passed.
All applicants will be notified of the outcome in June 2017.
