GREAT Scholarships India
The University of Edinburgh will be offering three scholarships to Indian students applying for an eligible one-year postgraduate taught Masters programme for the 2019-2020 academic session. These scholarships have been made available in partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign.
This scholarship scheme is part of the GREAT Scholarships 2019 - India Campaign which has been launched by the British Council together with 35 UK universities to support students in India to get access to the excellent UK Higher Education opportunities.
The GREAT Britain Campaign is the UK government’s initiative to promote the UK internationally as a GREAT place to visit, study and do business. The British Council in India is a partner in the campaign to raise awareness and promote the UK’s strengths in education, English language and the arts.
This scholarship scheme will offer an exciting opportunity for Indian students wishing to seek financial support to study at postgraduate degree level in the UK.
Each scholarship will cover full tuition fees for any eligible one-year taught postgraduate masters programme.
These funds have been made available through a 50% contribution from the University of Edinburgh, with the remaining 50% covered by the British Council and the GREAT Britain campaign. The award will be tenable for one academic year.
The Scholarships will be awarded to nationals and residents of India who are accepted for admission on a full-time basis for an eligible one-year taught on campus postgraduate Masters programmes to programmes of study within the following schools of the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences:
- School of Education
- School of Health in Social Science
- School of Law
All GREAT scholars should have studied in India at the school and college level.
The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic merit. Candidates must have, or expect to obtain, the overseas equivalent of a UK upper second-class honours degree or Indian first class equivalent.
It is no longer possible to apply for this scholarship has the deadline has now passed.
Nominated applicants have been sent an email inviting them to complete the second stage of the application process by 31st May.
